Who is this video for?

This is video is meant for language teachers or language learners. English learners will need to be upper intermediate in order to follow comfortably.

What are word cards?

This is what we all had to rely on before we had programs like Anki and Memrise. Word Cards are simply flash cards or study cards. On one side there is a word you want to learn in another language–on the other side is the same word in a language you know. You go through a deck of cards and test yourself. By doing this over time you can remember more and more words. This is an activity that every language learner should be trained how to do, whether it is with paper or an app. Spending class time teaching vocabulary just isn’t very efficient or effective. This is something language learners can do themselves. If you are a teacher and you haven’t used this yourself with language learning, you are really missing out.

Watch the video to see how to do it and I’ll prepare a small deck in Arabic at the end to demonstrate how to use them.
